Smoketown Airport (S37) held its annual fly-in on Saturday. Almost 200 planes attended the event in the heart of Pennsylvania Amish country. There were several nice Vans models, 2 Cessnas on floats, antiques and many homebuilts. One of the stars was the rare 1929 Fairchild 71, which is being restored in a hanger, but was moved outside for the event. There are some great locations for photos on both sides of runway 28/10. The weather was perfect, with light winds out of the West. The show featured fly-bys of some of the aircraft, as well as a flour drop and spot landing competition. I'm already looking forward to next year's fly-in, August 9, 2014.
